Welcome
Welcome to Digital Manifold Waves.
History
Digital Manifold Waves once was a company, run by me, Walter Daems. The company allowed me to provide students with full-color course notes at an affordable price (i.e. at the price students pay for regular black-and-white course material at their standard print shop). However, students asked me - rightfully - to release my course material in PDF form. That allows them to use that material on e-readers/tablets and in conjunction with the LaTeX text-to-speech software that I developed (SpeLaTeX). The result was that my sales figures dropped to almost zero, causing my business to go from break-even to writing red numbers on the accounts. Therefore, I closed the company down gracefully and continue to use this site to offer 'stuff'.
Therefore, Digital Manifold Waves is no longer a company, but, consider it an organization, organized by... well... me.
Recent evolutions
After many years of running this site on a self-written content management system, I changed the setup of this site to mkdocs/material. But, still the paradigm of the site remains unaltered: no flash graphics, no bandwidth-hungry videos, no databases.
What is it about?
It offers information in a variety of domains. Some might interest you, some not. Some stuff may annoy or irritate you. In the latter case, send me an e-mail or just surf away. It’s up to you.
In any case, have fun!
